Estee Lauder / MAC Warehouse Sale!

A friend of mine I work with was able to get me a "golden" ticket to the MAC warehouse sale!
I have been to warehouse sales before but I rarely purchase anything.
This was my first time going to an Estee Lauder and Co. "invite only" and wasn't expecting much except big lineups.  But, I quickly realized there was a lot of MAC stuff that I loved or couldn't get anymore! I ended up getting a lot more than I thought and I can't wait to go again!

Here is the stuff I purchased and closeups of what I think will be my favs!

left to right starting at the back

I was keeping an eye on this one, perfect for lip or eye lining

Everyday 15 Minute Makeup

I am always in a hurry in the morning getting ready for work.
I am not a morning person!  I would rather sleep than give myself extra time for makeup.
Here is my 10-15 minute Monday - Friday makeup routine

BEFORE:  Yikes! This is very rare...showing my mug without any makeup!
I am not sure why, but I am sporting extra spots. Good day for a before shot!
This is fresh-out-of-the-shower, people!

First I put on a moisturizer and a primer...

Next I mix my favourite foundation MAC Studio Fix Fluid (NC20) with my Garnier BB Cream. (during the winter months, when I need more moisture and coverage)
I always use my favourite foundation brush Sigma F84 Angled Kabuki Brush to buff it into my skin, starting in the middle of my face...

Then comes the much needed concealer.  Dot it under my eyes and on any blemishes and buff/stipple it in with my MAC 224 Brush.  I like the "airbrush" affect it gives...

Powder is a must!  Need to set your foundation and concealer into place. Makes a world of difference, especially if you're normal to oily, which I am.
LOVE the MAC Studio Careblend and my favourite powder brush MAC 138 Tapered Face Brush.  I usually press the powder (with the puff that comes with the powder) and dust off access with the brush.  The tapered brush is perfect for getting under your eyes.

Blush Blush Blush...a girls best friend, especially during the winter months when your skins feels a bit blah. I usually switch up my blush and today I went with a MAC Mineralized Blush in Gleeful
This is great for days when you need a little bit more out of your blush, it has a nice shimmer to it, not a lot, but enough so you look awake.

Brows.  Brows are so important for that all together face look. They really do frame the face.
I feel naked without them!  Lingering Eye Brows from MAC is my favourite eyebrow pencil ever! This has been repurchased over and over.  It suits a lot of brows too, so I always have one in my makeup kit.  I like to draw them in and use an old mascara wand to brush the colour up and through my brows, so it doesn't look so penciled on.

Eyeshadow time!  My go-to eyeshadow palette and brushes...
From left to right (all MAC) Vanilla (brow bone); Bisque (all over lid); Wedge (outer crease); Patina (crease). I use the Sigma E40 Tapered Blending (black one) to put Bisque all over the lid; the Sigma E25 Blending (white one) to put Patina in my crease and Wedge on the outer crease. Lastly I use the Sigma E70 Angled Brush to put Vanilla on my brow bone.
Phew, sounds like a lot of work, but it isn't ;)  I think it's worth at least putting a wash of eyeshadow over the lid that's close to your skin colour like Bisque. It hides any discolourations and sets your lids if you put foundation/concealer on them.

Yessss, eyeliner time!  If it's one thing I need it's eyeliner!  I have light eyelashes and I need a liner to bring more definition to my eyes.  I love using the MAC Pearlglide Intense Eyeliner, it's very smooth going on and lasts all day. Lord It Up is my preferred colour.  I like to use it under my eye and blend/smudge it in with the MAC 219 Pencil Brush

How I love Mascara! Especially the Telescopic Explosion Mascara by L'oreal.  The ball applicator works so well to get the corner lashes. It's easy to "direct" your lashes where you want them to go.  I always curl my lashes first with my shu uemura lash curler and use an old mascara wand to help separate if they look a bit clumpy.

Lips can be very drying during the winter months.  It's easy and quick just to put on a "chapstick" or a lip gloss just to make your lips look healthy and moisturized.  Throw in your purse for touch-ups during the day.  I like MAC Plushglass in Ample Pink.  The perfect neutral pink.

AFTER:  the final look!!! Wow, thanks Makeup...I really needed you today ;)

Favourite Makeup Brushes

Here are a few of my favourite makeup brushes....meaning the ones I use regularly!
Most of my brushes are MAC brushes but I also use Quo.  I have recently been trying out Sigma Brushes, which are a great alternative to MAC and a great price!

FACE BRUSHES:

MAC 109 small contour brush

This is my favourite brush!  I use this every single day.
It's labeled at MAC as a "contour brush"  It is definitely a multi-purpose brush.
I have used it for powder, blush, liquid foundation applicator and of course contouring. But I mostly use it for face powder.  It works great with mineralized skinfinish products.
I don't leave home without this brush.

MAC 150 large powder brush

This is my fatty brush.
It is a great multi-purpose brush too.
I mostly use this for dusting access powder from the face, but it works great for blush and bronzer.

MAC 129 powder/blush brush

This was the first brush I ever bought from MAC over 10 years ago!
It's still in excellent shape!  I take care of my brushes ;)
Back then I used it as a multi-purpose brush, now it's used for blush and mostly for bronzer.

MAC 138 tapered face brush

This is a new addition to my face brushes.
I wasn't too sure about it at first, but I started figuring it out.
The pointy end is great for blush, bronzer and highlighter, gives a more contoured look.
I am using this brush more and more.

MAC 116 blush brush

This is my blush brush.
It's great for small faces or a more precise blush application.

MAC 130 short duo fibre brush

This is my ultimate favourite brush!  This brush changed my life!!
I cannot apply foundation without this brush...forget sponges, the flat top brush, the flat foundation brush, even the duo fibre brush.  If I don't have this brush I would rather use my fingers.
I do not leave home without this brush!!

EYE BRUSHES:

SIGMA E40 tapered blending brush

I wanted this brush from MAC but wasn't sure if I would use it, so I got it from Sigma for fraction of the price.
I LOVE IT!  I use this brush the most out of all my eye shadow brushes.
It's perfect for applying a base eyeshadow to the entire eye.
It's also good for blending in the crease.
I use it for both.
MAC 224 is a bit smaller but I prefer the size of the Sigma one.

MAC 217 blending brush

All makeup artists swear by this brush.  I think it is the most popular eye brush ever!
I have 2!  One I use for creamy eyeshadows and eyeshadow base.
The other one I use for powder eyeshadow, it fits perfectly in the crease for applying contour colour and easy blending.
This brush is a must!

MAC 239 eyeshader brush

This brush is popular too.  It's great for packing colour onto the lid.
I like to use it for darker colours for the outer part of crease and then use the 217 (above) to blend.

MAC 219 pencil brush

I use this brush everyday too!  It's perfect for blending eyeliner pencil.
I use it to smoke out eyeliner and add shadow under the eye.

QUO angled eyeliner brush

If you have problems applying liquid eyeliner then you need this brush!
This is the perfect eyeliner brush.  It is angled to make application a lot easier.
Try it, you will see what I mean!

LIP BRUSH:

MAC 316 lip brush

I like this lip brush because of the metal cover that you store on the end of the brush to make the brush full size.
The brush is the perfect size for precise lipstick application.
